Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs):
Graduates of BA programme will be able to:

  1. Acquire a comprehensive understanding of arts/humanities/social sciences subjects and their application in societal context.
  2. Develop critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills to assess historical, cultural, political, literary, and social phenomena.
  3. Pursue higher studies, research or careers in education, public service, media, civil services, etc.
  4. Uphold ethics, social responsibility, and cultural awareness in professional and personal life.

Programme Outcomes (POs):
On completion of B.A., students will be able to:

PO1. Demonstrate knowledge of major disciplines (e.g. History, Political Science, Sociology, English etc.).
PO2. Think critically and analyze issues in arts/humanities.
PO3. Communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
PO4. Understand, appreciate and apply ethical norms, diversity, gender sensitivity.
PO5. Employ research skills: gather, analyze, use secondary/primary sources.
PO6. Adapt to changing socio‑economic environments; possess skills for employability.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs):
Depending on subject specialization, for example:

  • PSO1: In languages, achieve proficiency in reading, writing, translation.
  • PSO2: In social sciences, ability to use qualitative & quantitative methods to study societal issues.
  • PSO3: In fine arts or creative subjects, develop artistic skills and ability for creative expression.
